Currently reading

The Edge of Always (The Edge of Never, #2)
J.A. Redmerski
The Mark of the Vampire Queen - Joey W. Hill Well not my favorite vampire world at all! Dark and sadistic. It was truly terrifying at times. Yet I found myself shockingly excited by it all! It all just confirms how corrupt my mind has become! Jacob *fanning self* is the reason I kept reading. A true loyal hero! He could not be broken though Lyssa tried. She did get on my nerves most of the time with her arrogance and " this is for your own good " mentality. Such the martyr! It was a good story, different but good!

Continental Beginnings (Continental Affair, #2)

Continental Beginnings (Continental Affair, #2) - Ella Dominguez Wow! These are the best! Short but they pack such a punch! Unique enough that the length was perfect! Hidden gems, IMO! I love them!

Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy, #2)

Shooting Scars - Karina Halle Two things...First, Never use Coffee Mate...ever!! Second, my loyalty towards Javier will not change even if that means laying in the dirt bleeding out next to him! Until the end! Though I hope it won't come to that. This was probably my least favorite book of the series. I can see what Karina was trying to do but it won't work!! #Team Javier!
Bedrock - Britney King This book had such potential but fell short. Too many under developed ideas. Maybe if the story was longer it would have helped...Very disappointing...:(
Divergent - Veronica Roth 4.5 stars. Wow! It took some effort from a friend to get me to read this but I am soooo glad that I did! Not my usual thing but a welcome change! Usually I shy aware from fantasy that seems too "smart" for me! It can be very intimidating! LOL! Luckily I was able to catch on quickly with Divergent. Here's my simple-minded synopsis without repeating the entire book, hopefully some of you undecided people who have not read it might give it a try now...bare with me, this is a little long...

Imagine a future where people have become fed up with our government and society. These people begin to divide into groups based on their own theories as to why our problems exist. These groups then adopt a single belief and choose to live their life wholly dedicated to enforcing this belief. After time, five main groups or "factions" are formed.

1- Candor: A group of people who only tell the truth because they feel our problems are because of too many lies.
2- Dauntless: A group of people who are very brave because they feel our problems are due to cowardice.
3- Abnegation: A group of people who are nothing but selfless because they feel our problems are due to selfishness.
4- Amity: A group of people who are peaceful because they feel our problem is too much anger and violence.
5- Erudite: A group of people who are very smart because they feel that our problem is lack of knowledge.

Now these factions work pretty good for a while. They even mandate that every teen on his or her 16th birthday must take an aptitude test to discover which group they naturally fall into. Each can choose a new group based on their results and live in their true nature or they can decide to stay with the group they were raised but they must choose one and forever assimilate to that way of life. Having no group or being "factionless" is a horrible thing that includes being voiceless, living in poverty and working lowly jobs.

(BTW, based on the test examples in the book, I would have tested Dauntless which I think is interesting!)

A clear benefit to these factions is that everyone has only one value so it's easy for their leaders to predict actions and control their followers. But what happens when a person doesn't fit into just one belief? What if this person is smart, selfless and brave? What if this person is not the only one? What if these hidden people are able to see the flaws and corruption in the faction system and can secretly convince others to stand up against it. We quickly learn that faction leaders would see these people as a serious threat...the Divergent!

I hope that all makes sense and does the story justice! I really liked this book. Good food for thought! There is even a little romance in there which is enough to satisfy my requirement! There are some very heartbreaking moments, ass kicking moments, moments I wanted to strangle people and even a little swoon time, too! I'm already reading book 2! I really recommend this series! Try it! You know you want too! :)
Damaged Goods - Lauren Gallagher 4 stars. It was just the hot read I needed but I don't think I could have done as well as Jocelyn did with everything! I'm too jealous for all that but good for her, he was worth it!

Resist (Songs of Submission, #6)

Resist (Songs of Submission, #6) - C.D. Reiss I'm such a fan of this series! It keeps getting better and better! Jonathan is just...wow! I felt that he let down his defenses a little bit in this one. He was much for open about his feelings for Monica when in the past he's been little too cryptic. He was even playful at times instead of his usual intensity and this made me fall for him a little more. I can't believe there is only one more book left! I wonder how C.D. will wrap all this up!! Ugh!! This is shaping up to be a 5 star series to me but I'm still holding off until the final book to rate the series as a whole!

Unteachable

Unteachable - Leah Raeder 5 stars! I loved it and was totally hooked after the first chapter! I kept thinking of Evan and Maise as a whacked out version of Will and Lake from Slammed if Will had not stuck tight to his morals and just let Lake have her way! But for the record, Evan is no Will Cooper by any stretch of the imagination!! I thought the writing was amazing. My heart ached for them because I felt their relationship was doomed from the start yet I remained hopeful. I couldn't tell which way was up sometimes or decide what I wanted to happen. There was a constant struggle to do the right thing but the problem was trying to define "right". It meant different things to different people. Maise was young but because of what she's endured so far in her short life I felt she was too wise for her age in some ways and that made me a little sad for her. I don't really think their story was so much forbidden as it was against the rules, if that makes sense. Maise was 18 and yes Evan was significantly older than her but if he wasn't her teacher their relationship still might have raised eyebrows but it would have been fine technically. Deep down I think Evan has some issues that need to be addressed but overall I liked him and I liked them together. I actually wouldn't mind a follow up to this book, sometimes sequels can be overkill but I would welcome one for this!

Fantastical (Fantasyland, #3)

Fantastical (Fantasyland, #3) - Kristen Ashley I loved this series! This book was probably my least favorite of the three but then again Lahn is a tough act to follow. My favorite character was Aggie, the little bird! He was so cute! These stories are very imaginative, colorful and over the top creative! Every detail was so vivid. Amazing! KA rocked the hell out of this genre as expected! Can't wait for more of this series!

The Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland, #2)

The Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland, #2) - Kristen Ashley 5++++++ stars!!!

Lahn makes my heart happy!!

He is so dreamy...in a rough Alpha warrior who takes no shit kind of way...

Even though I didn't understand a single word he was saying for about half of the book, his actions spoke volumes! He absolutely loved Circe from the very beginning, I loved how on one hand he was this fierce warrior king, who demanded and got nothing but respect from his followers yet he opened himself up to Circe completely. Exposing a vulnerability to her that took more bravery than being even the mightiest of all warriors. The lengths he went to in order to earn her love, protect her from harm and (after he messed up) to bring her back to him were...I just...I can't even... I love him! I also loved how Circe found her way with him and his people. She did way better than I could have, given the situation. Even still she was your typical silly KA female but Lahn goes straight to the #2 spot of my all time favorite KA men (nobody can beat Tate for me, but if it were possible Lahn would do it!) Hot does not even describe him, more like SCALDING!

Lahn...
I heart you photo: I heart *love* you asdfghjkl-tumblr-gif-i17-Iheartyou_zps7df4afd2.gif

Seriously...I do...I would have his warrior babies and being pregnant was not so fun to me...so that's saying a lot!! LOL *sigh*

Wildest Dreams (Fantasyland, #1)

Wildest Dreams - Kristen Ashley Absurdly fantastic! Ridiculously amazing! I loved everything about this book! A true fantasy come to life! Dragons, elves, witches and royalty! Beautiful winter wonderlands, sea voyages with smoking hot sea raiders and some sort of aphrodisiac in the form of a tea that I would love to get hands on. Yum!. All of which were " freaking cool" according to Finnie who got way more than she paid for to adventure in to a parallel universe in hopes of seeing her parents again. The whole concept was far out and crazy but I bought it. I don't care if it didn't make any sense! Frey is all my wildest dreams come to life!! But that was the point. This whole story was a fun fantasy that only KA can write. Loved it!

Blind Obsession

Blind Obsession - Ella Frank Gah! I'm depressed now...what a trip. I really struggled with this one. Don't get me wrong, it was very well written. Artistic, creative and beautiful! I just didn't connect with the characters. My heart breaks for Phillipe, and I'm not sure what to think about Gemma and Chantel was another distraction that I wasn't sure what to do with. It was a good 3 stars for me up until the last few paragraphs which were so powerful in meaning that they earned an entire star on their own! I wanted to love it but maybe I just picked a bad time to read it and my mind wasn't in the right place for it. Others sure loved it and I can understand how. Oh well...
Worthy of Redemption - L.D. Davis 4.5 stars. I liked this one sooo much better than Accidentally on Purpose! Kyle was still very flawed, and a little too weak for my taste but Lily rocked! I want to be her! She made the book! She was exactly what Kyle needed to help him learn to be a better person. I now realize that Emmy was not good for him, she was a trigger. Lily was hope. Although Kyle had many flaws, he was not lacking in the Sexy as Hell department! He was ON FIRE even more so than in book 1, now if he could have only taken that confidence and stretched it to other parts in his life he would have scored better for me. Was he redeemed, maybe. Could he have made some different choices, yes! Am I happy with the progress he's made, absolutely!

Thief (Love Me With Lies, #3)

Thief (Love Me With Lies, #3) - Tarryn Fisher

5000 stars!! I have never in my life anticipated the release of a book more than I have with Thief! This series has haunted me and effected me in ways that seem ridiculous to those who have managed to resist Tarryn Fisher's Love Me With Lies web!

This was me at the end of The Opportunist!

Leah was a bitch and I was ready for her to be taken down but the wait seemed like forever! My girls and I have spent months discussing possible scenarios and our wishes for Caleb and Olivia.

This was me at the end of Thief!

Right back where I started! A complete emotional wreck. I never wanted it to end! Damn you TF for making me crazy!

Underestimated

دعاء الأنبياء والصالحين - Muhammad Mutawalli Ash-Sha'raawi 5 well earned stars! The title is perfect and makes so much sense now that I've reach the end! There was a lot of underestimating all the way around, I know that I completely underestimated how this story would effect my emotions. What a journey! I've missed reading good stories like this that really take their time. The first half of Underestimated had a slow and purposeful build. At the time, the slowness was little frustrating but not enough to make me want to stopped reading. I still wanted to know Morgan's story and I had no idea that things would take the turn they did. By the time I reached the second half, I realized that all of those details and the recalling of emotions were important because it helped me understand Morgan's struggle with deciding what she knows is right and what felt right to her. Yes, I wanted to slap her often but could see where she was coming from! The author seamlessly converted me in to desperately wanting something I knew I shouldn't but I couldn't help myself! Underestimated was a mixture of Consequences, Captive in the Dark, Fifty Shades, Thoughtless, Safe Harbor, Sleeping with the Enemy and maybe even more if I think about it a little longer. My mind was going crazy! This is definitely going in my favorites!

Escape from Paradise

Escape from Paradise - Gwendolyn Field 4.5 stars. Crazy but good! A more detailed review to come. I just need to sort my feeling enough to write a review that can be understood!!
